2013 Coaches of the Year
BBFC recognbised the following coaches for their contributions during the 2013 season:
6s to 11s
Matt Sainsbury’s great enthusiasm and skill saw our 9C team promoted to 9B during the season. The boys remained very competitive in the higher grade so much so that they are an excellent chance of playing in 10A in 2014. Matt ran extra training sessions throughout the season which the boys throuroughly enjoyed and tapped into our Technical Director a number of times. The team also took full advantage of various gala days and won a sportsmanship award at the the Bexley North FC gala day.
12s to 21s
Geoff Holden took our 15B team to a minor premiership and a runners up spot. This was a fine effort when one considers that half the team could have played under 14s. Geoff is a long time coach who continues to develop and has achieved good results now with a number of teams. He took the 15s for many extra sessins during te season which added conside3rably to their skill levels and also the camaraderie between the players.
Rod West led BBFC’s Open Women’s A Grade to the minor premiership and their 3rd grand final in as many years. While he admits to having an exceptional group of players to work with, Rod needed to reorganise he team structure to accommodate a few new players joining the squad this season. The team played beautiful football all season being arguably the most “watchable” team in the club.
