Skills

All players irrespective of sill level and their financial means should have access to the best quality skills training we can provide.

BBFC’s skills clinics will be held at its home fields wherever possible. Experience tells us there will be a higher take up rate if we run skills clinics locally.

BBFC is also committed to ensuring pricing of extra skills training is competitive. Too many skills programs are run for unjustifiable commercial returns..

We will utilise appropriately qualified internal resources wherever practical. We will supplement our own resources with the Sutherland Shire Football Association Academy resources to ensure quality.

The club will consider genuine applications for fee relief for extra skills clinics. Email applications to academy@bonnetbayfc.com .

Skills Development Programs

We will run age and skill appropriate programs for:

  • MiniRoos 6s to 11s
  • Male 12 & Over
  • Female 12 & Over
Stay posted for details of our pre-season program which will kick off in late January.

The Sutherland Shire Football Association will be running a fantastic introductory course at Lakewood City Reserve for players in under 6s and under 7s. This will be open to players throughout the shire.

BBFC plans a range of other activities including:

  • junior women’s pre-season skills clinics held by Women’s Technical Director, Morgans Maxwell
  • women’ s 7 a side competition
  • junior men’s pre-season skills clinic
  • senior men’s and women’s get fit for football skills clinics
  • wellness seminars
  • mindset seminars
Our in-season program is set to go to the next level

Once the season is under way our Technical Directors will be available to support coaches, players and teams at regular training throughout the season.

We have Skills Clinics planned for Friday nights during the season and will run School Holiday Clinics in April and July. Summer Clinics will follow.

Off-Season Training to be Accredited

All of the activities outlined above will be fully sanctioned by our parent bodies and Council.

BBFC cannot sanction training that does not meet standards set by our parent bodies and Council. Unsanctioned training jeopardises player injury insurance cover and future allocations of fields and extension of insurance coverage.

All teams and coaches are urged to apply for all off-season activities to be sanctioned by the club.

Criteria:

  • training to be held at grounds and times approved by Council
  • all participating players need to be identified for insurance purpose
  • all sessions must be held by suitably accredited coaches
  • sanctioned activities may attract Active Kids Rebates during the summer months

Note:

Football Fundamentals does not meet any of the above criteria.Training conducted by Football Fundamentals at Woronora is not accredited as they have decided not to align with BBFC despite the offer being there over the past 12 months to assist them with all the necessary processes at every step along the way. This jeopardises insurance coverage for players and means a private organisation has unapproved usage of fields tended for by BBFC.
